Terms of Use

Web version 2026-10-20 — the long-form lives in the repo.

What this tool is for

Crashtest is an open-source testing assistant. It fires adversarial tests at code you own — server handlers, routes, state, cost logic — inside your own Node process, and reports what held and what didn't. Use it on your apps, your team's apps, or projects where you're invited to test. Every request it fires is an in-process call: nothing leaves your machine.

What it is not for

  • Systems you don't own — no testing code, servers, or services belonging to other people
  • Anything malicious or illegal — by design the tool targets code, not people, and we mean that literally
  • Tooling attacks against third parties — if it isn't your repo, it isn't your target
  • Merch or exploit development — findings belong in fixes, not showcase weaponization

No warranty, no blame, no stress

Crashtest is MIT-licensed and comes with absolutely no warranty. It crashes (that is what stress-testing does), it misses things, and it can report imperfect evidence. Use your judgment, use backups, run it in your own sandbox first.

To the maximum extent law allows, the authors are not liable for any damages that come from using it. You test at your own risk — which, granted, is rather the point.

What you own

Every report, ledger, and finding generated by your own runs belongs to you. We see nothing, hold nothing, and collect nothing (see privacy).

Fair use of the site

This site is documentation. Don't attack it, don't drown it, and don't represent yourself as Creadev unless you are. Site code is MIT like the package.

Changes

These terms may be adjusted as the project grows — material changes land with a date bump, and the repo history keeps every prior version.
